Uganda holds 2nd National Family Planning summit.

The conference was attended by various stake holders including development partners, Members of Parliament, LCV chairpersons and NGOs. It was held under the theme: Universal access to family planning for healthier and empowered communities towards social and economic development. Zachedo was represented by the Executive Director Hajat Sarah N Mbabaali and Program Director Zalwango Ziada.

‘Teenage pregnancy rate has increased from 24% to 27%, registering 4.3 million unintended pregnancies in 2017. The right to consent, informed choice and use of modern methods of family planning among adolescents and young women needs to be enhanced within both public and private health care settings.’ Dr. Ruth Achieng, Minister of Health Uganda.
